Commissions & Pricing
“He has a deft, sensitive and caring style resulting in beautiful work which will be enjoyed and appreciated for years to come.” Dan A., Arlington, Virginia
COMMISSION
Mr. Divino is based in Los Angeles and accepts commissions throughout the calendar year. Portrait creation and delivery estimates are made at the time of the commission based on current projects in the queue. Turnaround times have been as short as one month, although this can vary significantly. If special circumstances require an expedited delivery, the artist can discuss options with you during the commission process.
High quality photography of the special pet can be emailed or sent USPS. The artist suggests multiple images and angles and is happy to discuss preferences with you at the time of the commission. Any mailed photographs will be safely returned with the custom portrait. If you live in the Los Angeles/Southern California area, Mr. Divino may be available to make a personal visit to meet your pet for no additional charge.
Mr. Divino guarantees that each pet portrait is an original, hand done work of art. He makes no use of scanning and reproduction software technology (“giclee”) in creating your pet’s unique portrait. The process is completely authentic and transparent. Mr. Divino is dedicated to not only producing an exceptionally beautiful and respectful image of your pet, but also to capturing to the extent possible the unique personality and essence that makes your family member so beloved.
As a client service, the artist will gladly provide a preliminary sketch of the pet’s portrait for client review and approval mid-process. This can be provided by email and can also be viewed in the “posts” section of http://petportraitclassics.com.
PRICING
Mr. Divino typically creates a 12″ x 15″ image to fit a standard 11″ x 14″ matte opening (either vertical or horizontal). Although his preference is to focus on the head and face of the subject, other compositional options are available and can be discussed at time of commission. The artist also prefers to create your pet’s portrait in the classic style without the distraction of artificial backgrounds and settings.
12″ x 15″ pastel orginal: $770.
12″ x 15″ pencil portrait: $330.
The rates above are for one subject per image. If you would like an image with more than one pet (for example, a pet posed with you or your child or with another animal), the artist will be glad to provide another quote.
If you are interested in commissioning a work in a size other than 12″ x 15″, Mr. Divino will be glad to discuss this with you during the commission process.
Deposits: Pastel originals require a $440 deposit at time of commission. The balance is due upon completion of the portrait with shipping charges added (Federal Express) and must be paid prior to shipment. Pencil portraits are to be paid in full at time of commission. Shipping charges (Federal Express) are billed with the finished portrait and are to be paid upon receipt of the artwork.
Please note: Deposits and charges are non-refundable unless the artist does not ship a completed work of art within two weeks of the estimated completion date determined at the time of the commission to the address provided by the client. Although the artist ensures your completed artwork is safely and responsibly packaged, he does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to the artwork that might occur during shipping.
Payments: The artist accepts personal checks, money orders or payment via PayPal. Checks are to be made out to “Angelo Divino.” Any checks that are returned or do not clear for any reason constitute a cancellation of the commission. If the client wishes to continue, a new commission and fee structure will be developed. Transactions using PayPal incur a 2 percent service fee. Instructions for payment through PayPal will be made at time of the commission.
